As on June 4, 2015, the European Union published Directive (EU) 2015/863 in its official gazette amending RoHS2.0 Appendix II to include four collodionic acid esters in RoHS2.0. Thus, the number of restricted substances in RoHS2.0 Appendix II increased to ten. The number of hazardous substances has changed, then the original RoHS tester can detect the addition of the four collodionic acid esters, the answer is yes or no, because they are compounds, the previous RoHS tester because of fluorescence spectrometer can only detect the elements, so in order to measure the addition of the four collodionic acid esters, can only increase a GC-MS instrument, at that time, because of the foreign GC-MS is too expensive, or more than a million dollars! An instrument, many domestic enterprises can not afford, the domestic instrument manufacturers want to come up with a method of detection with liquid chromatography, although the price compared to a substantial reduction, but there are drawbacks, slow detection efficiency, high precision, not environmentally friendly and other shortcomings, in order to solve the current dilemma, several domestic organizations have developed a gas chromatograph similar to the GC-MS, in which ICP Instruments also took the lead in the launch of the gas chromatography of thermal cracking TP60-GC, which is similar to GC-MS in performance, but easier to operate and cost-effective, has been recognized by most domestic manufacturers.
In 2023, TP100PLUS-GC has been developed to a higher level of RoHS2.0 detection, which is not only smaller in size, but also faster in detection efficiency and higher in precision.
